Your help is urgently needed to preserve this special stream valley!

Thursday morning we will be rallying with the "Klingle trees" in front of the Wilson Building.  We'll be setting up at 9:00, and have notified the press that we'll be in full force by 9:30.  Please show up early if possible to help with set-up, passing out badges & getting great visibility with Council staff & members coming to work.

For those of you who cannot join us in the morning or for most of the hearing, do remember to 1) stop by at lunch (e.g. about 12:30) so we can show our strength in numbers and 2) if testifying and need a call, send an e-mail to jim.wohlgemuth@db.com with your daytime number (if you haven't already done so).

Thanks & see you Thursday!

Only through active citizen action will the DC Council finally be persuaded to support the Mayor in his decision. Although the facts are all on our side, without hearing from constituents, the facts, and Klingle Valley, may get paved over.

Call, Email Councilmember Brazil - even though he is on record as endorsing the Mayor's plan, indications are that he may vote against Klingle Park.  AT-LARGE: Harold Brazil ph: 724-8174 fax: 724-8156 hbrazil@dccouncil.washington.dc.us

What you can do today: ask all of the Council to publicly support the Mayor's position of keeping Klingle Valley as a park. Emails, phone calls, regular mail - all of these can help! (use the "City Council" link to the left for contact info). Sign up to speak at the Hearing.

Email the Council    (if this link doesn't work, please use the following email address dccouncilmembers@dccouncil.washington.dc.us and copy from our sample letter

On Thursday March 13th there will be a joint "Committee of the Whole" and "Committee on the Public Works and the Environment" hearing regarding both the pro-road and pro-park bills.

Sign up to testify: Contact Aretha Latta (City Council), at 724 8196, by e-mail at alatta@dccouncil.washington.dc.us, or by fax at 202-724-7139. Provide your name, address, telephone numbers and organizational affiliation, if any, by the close of business on Tuesday, March 11, 2003.
